Stan Kramer
Stan Kramer joined the band as Assistant Conductor and trumpet player in the fall of 2017. Stan is the Director of Bands at Union Grove High School in McDonough, GA, a position held since the school opened in August 2000. Stan previously served as assistant director at Jonesboro High School and director at Burke County Middle School. He is a native of Clayton County Georgia and graduated from Morrow High School. He received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Reinhardt University.
For three decades Stan has worked as a music clinician and adjudicator in Georgia and South Carolina. His past and present professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, International Association of Jazz Educators, Georgia Music Educators Association, National Band Association, the International Trumpet Guild, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia professional music fraternity.
Stan is also a member of Tara Winds, serving as Associate Conductor and Trumpet Player, and the Sentimental Journey Orchestra and has performed with The Ringling Brothers-Barnum and Bailey Circus; musical artists including The Temptations, The O’Jays, Mel Torme, Shirley Jones, Pat Boone, Marvin Hamlisch, the Boys Choir of Harlem, Larnel Harris, South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, the Columbia Brass Band and with numerous other community and professional groups.
